Two guys in Salem who like wiring done right
PB Boatworks started in 2023 with a simple idea: a helm panel should look like it came with the boat, and the wiring behind it should look like a tugboat's.
Between us we have about thirty years of marine electrical work, split between the Navy, commercial tugs, and the kind of recreational boats you find up and down the North Shore. We started building panels for friends and for local marine services shops, and it turned into this.
We design and build every panel in Salem, Massachusetts. Most of what we ship goes to owners doing their own refit, to marinas and mobile techs who want a panel ready to drop in, and to small builders who need the same panel ten times. We have shipped to most of the East Coast and a fair amount of the rest of the country.
We can install your panel too, so you know the job was done right and you can enjoy the upgrade hassle free. If you already have an installer you trust, we are happy to work with them and can build a wired panel that makes their job easier.
For marinas, techs and builders
If you install panels for a living, we want to be the shop you send the drawing to. Repeat layouts stay on file, so the second one is a phone call.
- Commercial pricing on panels and components
- Drawings and templates kept on file by boat model
- Wired and labeled panels built to your harness spec
- Net terms for established accounts

Why a panel from us and not a kit
A blank panel from a catalog fits a catalog boat. Ours fits yours. The labels say what your switches actually do, in the order you reach for them, and the back is wired by someone who has traced a short in a bilge at two in the morning.
